We’ve worked hard to make our home as welcoming as possible. Unfortunately, it is not ADA-compliant.
Also, the concrete and stone steps leading down to the east and south docks are ancient (Northwoods Druids?) and do not feature handrails—use at your own risk.

Yes. Our property is located in the Town of Winchester. Their Lake User Guide offers common sense courtesies that fit right in with our Fredelig•sted philosophy. Our wonderful, long-term lake neighbors put these rules into practice, and we've invited them to let us know if our guests fail to follow them accordingly.
Guests who do not comply will forfeit their rental without reimbursement.
Additionally, there are some hard-and-fast local and state laws and ordinances that you should be aware of.
COMMON SENSE COURTESIES
• Quiet Hours—Please consider your neighbors and eliminate excess noise and loud music, especially between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.
• Space—Observe loons, eagles and other wildlife from a distance of at least 100 feet, and 200 feet from nesting Loons and chicks.
• Clean Lakes and Shoreline—lf you carry it in, please carry it out.
• Fireworks—Think before you shoot and clean up afterwards. Fireworks make noise, frightening children, pets & wildlife, and contaminate our lakes with heavy metals and toxic chemicals, plus present serious fire hazard to both forests and personal property.
LAWS AND ORDINANCES
• Shoreland Lighting—Please consider the glare of yard lights on your neighbors across the lake. Consider using motion detector lights, light shields and/or low wattage bulbs. Winchester Town Lighting Ordinance 2018-07.
• Water Sports—We are a no-wake lake. No tubing, water skiing, wakeboarding or surfing, or other traditional powered sporting activities allowed. Town of Winchester Boating & Water Regulations 2018-09.
• Boaters—All boaters must stay at least 100 feet from anglers, swimmers, divers, snorkelers, rafts, docks and other watercraft.
• Invasive Species—Launching or transporting boats or boating equipment with aquatic plants or animals attached is prohibited. (The good news? You don't have to worry about this one as Little Papoose Lake doesn't offer a public access for outside watercraft.)

Absolutely. While Little Papoose is doesn’t feature sandy shorelines, it offers all of the swimming and paddling experiences you’d expect.
Our east dock includes a ladder and reaches out far enough for cannonballers and toe-dippers alike. While the south dock nearest the boathouse and boat racks is great for little ones who just want to test out shallower waters—or, older kids and adults who want to step onto/into their canoe, rowboat, kayak or paddle board and pull the lilly pad out to the middle of the bay.
Use the steps down to the lake, paddle and swim at your own risk. No diving off either dock. Life preservers available next to boathouse.

In Northern Wisconsin, indoor flies are most common during the fall and early spring, especially from September to May. This is primarily due to the behavior of cluster flies, which enter homes and other buildings to hibernate in the fall and become active again as temperatures rise in the spring.
They are attracted to warmer, sunny areas of the house, so you might see them around windows and other exterior walls.
While unavoidable, we’ve taken several steps to reduce their presence, including plugging in sticky light traps throughout the home. We’ve also made a Dyson cordless vacuum readily available for those who met an early end of natural causes.

Yes, for property security and rental agreement adherence, we have three exterior closed-circuit security cameras that operate 24/7 and provide a 360° view of our property. (We do not have any surveillance technology inside the home.)
Once your full rental agreement has been met and damage deposit squared away, all recordings during your stay will be permanently deleted.
