Our Northwoods neighborhood

Emerging from the pristine waters and woods of Northern Wisconsin, Norseman Point™ is mere minutes from miles of year-round trails and revitalized ski slopes, including a diverse ecosystem of singularly unique shops and dining establishments.

Seize the seasons

Trophy Summers
Fireworks and fireflies. Pickleball and pancake feeds. Water bottles, beer coolers and imaginations thirsting for discovery—refilled at local hotspots. This is the definition of a classic northwoods summer.

Technicolor Falls
Throw on your fave flannel, ditch the camera filters, and revel in the unmuted kaleidoscope of memories waiting to be colored in by idyllic winding roads, trails well-managed and newly mapped, and misty morning waters.

Wonderland Winters
Whether your favorite blanket is draped over your lap or crunching beneath your feet or fat tires, we can’t think of a better place to cuddle up or cut loose during what we believe is the truly the coolest solstice of them all.

Chill Springs
Join in area St. Patrick’s Day festivities, then kick back with a good book and close family and friends in perfect solitude. The snow, ice and tourists melting away as you lean into a fun puzzle or passion project.

Basecamp for year-round adventure

WinMan Trails (2 miles) → Our property is just a short pedal away from the newly expanded WinMan Trails Papoose Lake Road trailhead, and just a bit farther to their main trailhead at the intersection of W and J. There’s no shortage of ways to Amaze Yourself™ at the Northwoods’ worst kept secret.

Trail-After-Trail → Mile-after-mile. Kilometer-after-kilometer. We are surrounded by cross-country skiing, hiking, biking and snowshoeing trails. Here are a few of our favorites to scout out ahead of time: North Lakeland Discovery Center, Rice Creek and Van Vliet Hemlocks State Natural Areas, North Lakeland School Nature & XC Ski Trail System, Heart of Vilas Bike Trail System, and MECCA Trails.

Alpine Skiing (40–70 minutes) → We’re a scenic drive from Snow River, featuring the U.P.’s only high-speed lift, plus Big Powderhorn Mountain and Porcupine Mountains Ski Area resorts. (Just enough time to return to a fully heated sauna when you return.)

Golfing (15 miles) → Established in 1924 and recently remodeled, Trout Lake Golf Club is the Northwoods’ premier 18-hole championship golf course destination. After your round is done, relax by the fire or on the screened porch overlooking the 18th fairway. Or hone your game on their “Number One” practice facility.

Other Activities and Avenues Worth Exploring → Pickleball and basketball courts, plus a “Sheet of Dreams” outdoor ice rink, are only minutes away, behind North Lakeland School. And The Mac and The Spa at Manitowish Waters are perfect for those days when you feel more like pushing or pampering yourself inside.

No shortage of stomping grounds in this neck of the Northwoods. Rather than attempt the impossible, detailing all of the things you can do, we’re going to point you in this general direction: vilaswi.com
